My name is Jenna Williams and I have been part of the team at Lighthouse since it opened in 2015. I have been working with individuals with autism for over 16 years in multiple different capacities. My interests in the field began as an integration counsellor at summer camps. These experiences led me to pursue a career in education. After obtaining my Bachelor of Arts in Drama in Education and Community, I completed a Bachelor of Education and became an Ontario Certified Teacher. These qualifications led me to my first teaching job at The Lighthouse!
After working at The Lighthouse for a couple years as a primary teacher, I became interested in pursuing higher education in Applied Behaviour Analysis and was accepted in the Master of Professional Education program at Western University. While enrolled in this program I also began my supervised hours in pursuit of certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). I graduated from the program in 2019 and became a certified BCBA in February 2020.
In 2020 I relocated to Windsor, Ontario where I live with my Fiancée and fur babies! I am currently working as a Behaviour Analyst in public schools. My connection with The Lighthouse remains significant as I continue to supervise kids who are funded under the OAP and receiving services/ education at The Lighthouse, as well as on a consultative basis for the assessment and treatment of problem behaviour.
I am very grateful for the experience and growth given to me by the students and team at The Lighthouse. It is truly a place of compassion, learning and celebration.
