Learning is a gift and right to anyone willing to try, but HOW we learn takes on many forms! It has been an absolute joy working with kids and their support systems to help them learn and achieve their goals. I earned my Honours Specialization in Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto.

After graduating I started my own OT practice in Trinidad and Tobago and have been working as a Pediatric OT for almost 6 years, and have really enjoyed watching my clients grow and learn new things every week. Most of my clients were on the Autism spectrum, and I feel like it was meant to be! Autism Spectrum Disorder is a diagnosis that provides some context and insight into the ways in which a person might engage with the world around them. I believe any diagnosis is meant to bring clarity and never to set limitations. Over the years I have watched clients use their differences to accomplish some of the most wonderful goals and bring so much joy and new perspectives to the their families and communities. I truly believe differences should be celebrated and channeled into everything that we do! I am also very aware of how differences can be challenging to navigate in a world that can be quite rigid and unforgiving at times…and that’s where I come in!

It has been an absolute joy and blessing to be able to help kids and their families navigate through this world and address their personal challenges while building off of their strengths. I absolutely love problem solving and finding new ways to engage kids in activities/occupations that enhance their future. I love learning from my clients just as much as I love teaching them!

I am so happy to have found the Lighthouse and am excited to be a part of a team that really cares about its students and wants them to succeed. I am really looking forward to this next chapter!
